He had a general common law practice, and also did a little chancery work. My practice included:

He appeared in virtually every type of court (including the Court of Appeal, the Coroner’s Court and Court Martial), except the House of Lords, but I saw a case there (Gissing v Gissing) during my pupillage, which has become one of the leading cases in the law of trusts.
